Today, I challenge you to think beyond what we know, and instead, I ask you to imagine more.

Imagine the success we can achieve when all of our citizens are engaged, feel valued, and are reflected in our leadership. Imagine the innovation we have yet to achieve by championing the richness of culture, experience, and diversity in our city.

We can set that standard - we can lead the way - we can be the vision for cities across the country.

Imagine a community where every person, regardless of circumstance, feels a deep sense of belonging. A place where all voices are valued and are reflected in our leaders. We can accomplish positive outcomes for our youth as well as people who want to stay in their homes and age in place. Our success is due to the generations that set the standard and came before. We must honor that and establish services to better meet the needs of our beloved elders.

We are fortunate to live in a city surrounded by natural beauty, from our parks to the woods and lakes that give us peace and serenity. But let’s not stop there. Imagine Mason leading the way in green spaces and sustainable living practices.
We have much more to do in this area. This includes from making our own government processes and facilities more efficient and ensuring all our residents have access to common-sense environmental efforts like recycling.
Mason can continue to protect and preserve the environment so that future generations can experience the beauty of nature in our city.

When I think about imagining more for Mason, I think about our shared values - and there are A LOT of them.

We all want to make sure our parents, grandparents and our kids are taken care of.

We want everyone to have access to our government services like prompt emergency response, well-maintained roads and our beautiful parks.

We want booming business from our big corporations to our treasured small businesses.

And, perhaps most of all, we want to feel like our families belong.

Mason is a place where people come together to support each other, where the spirit of kindness and generosity thrives. But why settle for good, when we can make it great?
